DAS is seeking a Technical Writer Level II. The Technical Writer II will assist with collecting and organizing information required for preparation of documents, training materials, guides, proposals, and reports. Provides technical edits to engineering documentation, software documentation, manuals, reports, or any other documents or presentations. Utilizes strong writing, editing, and communication skills to analyze and present complex information in a format that is easy to read and understand.


  • Works with teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of scientific and technical information, documentation content, and requirements
  • Analyzes existing and potential content and suggests enhancements to content and its presentation
  • With no guidance, develops diagrams, charts, and graphs that increase the user’s understanding
  • Standardizes content across document and briefing libraries
  • Develops high-quality documentation with no guidance that is easy-to-understand, easy to use, meets applicable standards, and meets the objectives and goals for the intended audience
  • Revises documents to remain current to the project's progress


Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of six years of experience as a Technical Writer
  • Minimum of High School Diploma
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office and excellent writing skills
  • Experience with the common tools associated with ( Microsoft Office Suite, optional understanding of AWS, Splunk, Metasploit, Burp Suite)
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral

Desired Capabilities:

BA in English, Science or related technical discipline (Extensive, directly applicable experience may substitute for the academic degree requirement), desired

Required Clearance:

  • Active Top Secret SCI w/CI poly

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position, and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to stand for extended periods of time. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Includes travel to local, remote, and out of state locations.
